JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide

To ensure 100% compatibility and maintain your Odysseys advanced driver-assist systems (Honda Sensing), professional technicians recommend the following steps:

1. Transmission Sensors: You must transfer your original USDM Speed Sensors and Range Sensor. Using your original “known-good” electronics ensures the ECU and TCM (Transmission Control Module) receive the exact signals required for shift logic.

2. Oil Cooler & Lines: Thoroughly flush your original transmission cooler and lines before installation to prevent any debris from a previous failure from contaminating the JDM unit.

3. Transmission Fluid: Use only Genuine Honda ATF 2.0 fluid. These 10-speed units are highly sensitive to fluid type; using non-OEM fluid can lead to harsh shifts or premature wear.

4. TCM Programming: After installation, a professional scan tool may be required to perform a “Transmission Adaptive Pressure Reset” to help the computer learn the clutch engagement points of the new unit.

5. Axle Seals: While the unit is out, we strongly recommend installing new OEM axle seals to prevent future leaks.
