This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American models:
Infiniti FX37: 2013
Infiniti QX70: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017
Compatibility Note: This is the Longitudinal configuration for RWD/AWD platforms. If your FX37 or QX70 is equipped with All-Wheel Drive (AWD), you must transfer your original USDM oil pan and pickup assembly to accommodate the front-drive axle clearance.
To ensure 100% compatibility and maintain your Infinitis advanced electronics, professional technicians recommend the following “External Swap” steps:
Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Plenum and Exhaust Manifolds. JDM versions may have different vacuum port layouts and often lack specific emissions sensors required for North American OBDII compliance.
Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your Infinitis chassis bulkheads or fuse box.
Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft Sensors. Infiniti electronics are highly sensitive; using your original “known-good” sensors prevents intermittent signal issues or Check Engine Light codes.
Oil Pan (AWD Models): If your vehicle is AWD, you must swap the USDM AWD Oil Pan and Pickup Tube onto the JDM block. The JDM donor may have been a RWD vehicle, and the pans are not interchangeable for AWD clearances.
VVEL Modules: Keep your original VVEL control modules to ensure perfect synchronization with your factory ECU mapping.
