This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American models:
Lexus RX 330 (AWD / 4WD): 2004, 2005, 2006
Compatibility Note: This is the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configuration. While the long block is identical to FWD versions, AWD models require specific oil pan and transfer case mounting clearances.
To ensure 100% compatibility and maintain your Lexuss sophisticated electronics and emissions status, professional technicians recommend the following “External Swap” steps:
Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Manifold and Exhaust Manifolds. JDM versions may have different vacuum port layouts and lack specific emissions bungs or EGR components required for North American OBDII compliance.
Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your RX 330s chassis bulkheads or ECU.
Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft Sensors. Lexus electronics are highly sensitive; using your original “known-good” sensors prevents intermittent signal issues or Check Engine Light codes.
Knock Sensors: We recommend transferring your original USDM Knock Sensors (located in the “V” of the block) while the intake is removed to ensure compatibility with your factory harness.
