Vehicle Fitment

This engine and transmission package is a direct fit for:

• Mazda MX-5 Miata (NA Chassis): 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993

• Eunos Roadster (JDM): 19891993

• Note: Can be retrofitted into 19941997 Miata chassis with minor modifications (1.8L to 1.6L downsize).

Installation & JDM Swap Notes

To ensure a “turn-key” experience, please note the following technical requirements:

• Long-Nose vs. Short-Nose Crank: These JDM units are typically the preferred “long-nose” crank versions (1991.5+), which eliminated the crank wobble issues found in early 1990 models.

• Electronics: Swap your original US-spec Air Flow Meter (AFM) and Crank Angle Sensor (CAS) to ensure 100% compatibility with your factory wiring harness.

• Maintenance: We strongly recommend replacing the Rear Main Seal, Clutch, and Timing Belt while the engine is out of the car for maximum longevity.

• Transmission: Includes the 5-speed manual gearbox. Inspect shifter bushings and change gear oil (75W-90) before use.
