This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American models:
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X (GSR/MR): 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
Transmission Compatibility: Manual (5-Speed) and TC-SST (Dual-Clutch).
Compatibility Note: While the long block is shared, you must use your vehicle-specific turbocharger and manifold setup (Evo X vs. Ralliart).
To ensure 100% compatibility and a seamless “Plug-and-Play” installation into your USDM chassis, professional installers recommend the following “External Swap” steps:
Turbo & Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Turbocharger, Exhaust Manifold, and Intake Manifold. JDM versions may have different vacuum routing or restrictor pill configurations.
Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft Sensors, Crankshaft Sensor, and Knock Sensor to the JDM block to ensure the ECU receives signals it recognizes.
Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your North American chassis or fuse box.
Fuel System: Swap your original USDM Fuel Rail and Injectors to the JDM engine to maintain correct scaling for your current ECU tune.
Oil Cooler & Lines: Inspect the JDM oil filter housing; if it differs from your USDM setup, swap your original Oil Filter Housing and Cooler Lines to ensure consistent oil temperatures.
Crank Pulley: Use your original USDM Crankshaft Pulley to ensure perfect alignment with your accessory belt drive system.
